Product Review: Episencial Sunny Sunscreen SPF 35

Monday, July 2nd, 2012

My family spends A LOT of time outdoors so a high quality, water-resistant sunscreen is important to us. However I don’t want to use a sunscreen that is loaded with toxins and chemicals. Yuck! So this summer I’m using Episencial Sunny Sunscreen SPF 35 to protect my family’s skin from harmful UVA/UVB rays. Episencial’s Sunny Sunscreen is rated a 2 by the Environmental Working Group. It’s free of ingredients I don’t want to use (ie- free of Additives, Parabens, Phenoxyethanol, Harsh Preservatives, EDTA, SLS, Synthetic Fragrances, and Phthalates) and full of natural ingredients such as organic sesame, safflower avocado oil, beeswax, aloe, organic shea butter, and organic green tea extract. Click on the video below for more information about why I like using Episencial Sunny Sunscreen SPF 35! 🙂

Sunday Funday Giveaway: Swim Diaper AND Sunscreen!

Sunday, May 6th, 2012

Hard to believe that hot, sunny, summer days are right around the corner! Do your summer plans include splashing at the pool, building sand castles at the beach, or relaxing by the lake? If so you’ll want to be sure to invest in a cloth swim diaper for your wee one! One awesome option for a cloth swim diaper is the Bummis Swimmi Swim Diaper. I can personally attest to their awesomeness because I have a Bummis Swimmi Swim Diaper that my one year old uses almost daily. We love it!  It’s super light weight and trim which is perfect for a busy little body both in and out of the water. Most importantly it is effective at containing poop thanks to the coated nylon layer on the inside. The hook and loop closure also ensures a perfect fit each time. The Bummis Swimmi Swim Diapers come in three sizes and super-duper adorable prints including gender-specific and gender-neutral options.

Next on the “must have list” for summer water fun is a high quality, water-resistant sunscreen product for baby’s delicate skin. One great product to try is Episencial Sunny Sunscreen SPF 35. It effectively blocks both UVA and UVB rays with the use of gentle, all natural ingredients such as:

  • Organic green tea extract to prevent sun-damage
  • Organic sesame, safflower and avocado oils to moisturize and nourish the skin.
  • Beeswax and organic shea butter increase water resistance and sun protection
  • Zinc and titanium to protect sensitive skin

With ingredients such as these, Episencial Sunny Sunscreen SPF 35 is well rated by the Environmental Work Group.

This week’s giveaway is for both of these AWESOME products and just in time for some summer fun! Be sure to enter today for your chance to win a Bummis Swimmi Swim Diaper and bottle of Episencial Sunny Sunscreen SPF 35.

Sunday Funday Giveaway: Two Great Breastfeeding Care Products

Sunday, January 8th, 2012

New breastfeeding mommies need to take good care of their breasts to help establish successful breastfeeding. There are some awesome products designed specifically with the new nursing mommy in mind to help minimize any discomforts associated with early breastfeeding. This week’s giveaway is for two such products.

The first is for Earth Mama Angel Baby Natural Nipple Butter. This is my all-time favorite nipple cream. I used it proactively (before signs of cracked or sore nipples) by smearing it on generously after each nursing session during the first few weeks of nursing. And thanks to Earth Mama Angel Baby Natural Nipple Butter I never did experience any issues with sore/cracked nipples. I selected to use this nipple cream over the other ones on the market because it is 100% organic, all natural, plant-based balm created without lanolin which means it is certified vegan too. Some of the soothing ingredients include calendula, cocoa butter, shea butter and mango butter. Additionally because it’s clinically proven to be safe for baby there is no need to wash it off before nursing.

The second product is Soothies Gel Pads by Lansinoh. These wonderful little pads can providing soothing relief to breastfeeding mamas. If you experience nipple discomfort from nursing, these re-useable pads will cool and soothe the area to help maintain breastfeeding success.

If you are nursing a newborn, will be soon, or know someone who will, be sure to enter this week’s giveaway for two great products that can help support a comfortable  breastfeeding relationship!
