Holiday Craft for Children

Are you already thinking of what homemade Holiday gifts your kids can make for the Grandparents?

I know I am! My contemplation of what to make this year inspired me to share one of my favorite Holiday crafts we did last year. It’s super easy, low budget, and hands-on fun for kids.

Also you probably already have most everything you need to make them which means you could start making them this very afternoon if you wanted! 🙂

Ingredients:

    • 2 cups of flour
    • 1 cup of water
    • 1 cup of salt
Additional Materials:
    • cookie cutters
    • straw
    • ribbon
    • paint, glitter, decorative embellishments

Rolling out the dough

Directions:
  • Add all ingredients into a bowl and knead together to form a dough.
  • Roll out the dough.
  • Cut with cookie cutters.
  • Use a straw to poke a hole in the top before they dry so you have a place to loop the ribbon.
  • Allow ornaments to dry completely before decorating. You can let them air dry or if you need to expedite the drying process you can bake them at a low temperature (200 degrees) for 15-20 minutes. You don’t want them to brown at all so keep a close eye on them.
  • Now it’s time to decorate. Have fun and be creative!
