Ju-Ju-Be: Stylish, Practical, and Absolutely Amazing

Tuesday, June 28th, 2016

Screen Shot 2016-06-28 at 8.21.58 AMEveryone has something they love. For some women, it’s shoes or clothes. For me, it’s always been purses. So when I was looking for a diaper bag, I knew I needed something big, unique, and amazing. I have been through several over the years, but I keep coming back to my Ju-Ju-Be bags. They are worth every penny and have gotten me through trips, toddler meltdowns, and sticky situations with snacks.  Here are some of my favorite products I’ve used from Ju-Ju-Be.

Be Quick: These small bags are perfect for keeping your diapering essentials together. My Be Quick has diapers, wipes, and extra clothes inside for quick changes. I also use a Be Quick for snacks in my purse, because I can’t stand for things to not be organized. In the past, I have used these bags for my mommy needs. It’s easy to pull them out when you just need a small bag to run into a store. The wristlet feature makes it easy to take care of your little ones, too.

Super Be: This bag is my go-to bag for the gym. It’s huge and spacious for all of my needs including shoes, towels, showering items, extra clothes, kid items, and my water bottle. It’s perfect for a weekend travel bag, too. I have this bag in one of the adorable Hello Kitty prints, and I often wish I had about 3 more. It is truly super.

BFF: The BFF is just what it says. As a mom of multiple kids, this bag has become my BFF. It can be used as a messenger bag or backpack. It easily wipes clean and has pockets galore. It features a mommy pocket in the front for your phone, wallet, keys, etc. It’s not too big to use daily, but it holds a ton! The prints are beautiful and the interior is just as impressive. I have this bag in the Platinum Petals print and have gotten multiple compliments on it in the past.

Be Set: I purchased a Be Set on a whim recently, and I am so glad I did. These 3 pieces keep all of my needs organized in my backpack. I have this in the Royal Envy pattern. I use the large set piece for my mommy needs- wallet, lip gloss, hair brush, keys, feminine products, etc. I use the medium set piece for toys in my bag. It is so easy to pull-out in a restaurant when my kids need entertainment. The small set piece is perfect for make-up or just holding my credit cards when I don’t want to carry in more than needed to a store. There are so many uses for these products.

Ju-Ju-Be products are cute, versatile, and something I definitely recommend in investing in. I’m already thinking about getting a new bag for my baby on-the-way!

Packing the Perfect Diaper Bag

Thursday, March 6th, 2014

diaper bagI am the queen of rushed trips and am perpetually 15 minutes late everywhere I go. I’ve tried so many times to be more organized and plan better, it’s just never happened.

The only thing I’ve ever succeeded in is my ability to pack and keep packed the perfect diaper bag.

To start off, we’ll do a little time traveling back to when I had two kids in diapers. I needed a lot of duplicate items, but I was able to whittle things down so I didn’t need a suitcase everywhere we went.

First, you need a good sturdy diaper bag.

With my first I decided I would never use a diaper bag, and that my 10 year old messenger bag would do the trick. Spoiler alert: It didn’t!

So, I decided to splurge on a Ju-Ju-Be Be All when my second was born. I could rave all day about this bag, but it’s ability to be tossed in the washing machine and the magnetic closure were game changers in my diaper bag quest. Now that I’ve told you what kind of bag I used, I will give you the ultimate list of things to have for a day-long trip with a cloth diapered baby (or two):

1. Diapers! This is a no brainer, but I usually included 4-8 diapers. AIOs were my favorite because the took up the least amount of room and were the easiest to wrestle on a wiggling baby. Wool is also great to keep leaks in and not take up much space.

2. Medium Wetbag. You can go plain or wet/dry but medium is the size to go with. It’s the baby bear of day trip wetbags–just right!

3. Wipes. I used cloth because it was easier to throw the entire mess in the wetbag. No need for sprays because you usually have a sink handy to wet your wipes.

4. Aden & Anais Swaddle blanket. The AA swaddle can be used as a blanket, nursing cover, carseat cover, and even a towel if the need arises. It’s the Swiss army knife of baby products.

5. Water Bottle. Yes, you can grab one on the go, but having your own is not only better for you but better for the environment.

6. “The Baby Kit.” We kept this in a small wetbag, it included: sunscreen, teething tabs, CJ’s stick or any other diaper cream, Chapstick, bandaids, nipple cream, and kid-safe hand sanitizer. Keeping them all together in a wetbag will prevent spills and searching around for little things.

7. Two shirts or onsies, and two pairs of pants. It never failed that our first backup outfit would get puked on or fall victim to a massive blowout. A backup to your backup is always good with baby

8. Snacks for you and older kiddos. It’s better to be prepared with snacks you feel good about than having to run into a gas station and try to find anything healthy with a screaming toddler.

9. Toys. having a few handy is a good way to distract and avoid boredom!

It took me awhile, but eventually I realized if I replaced everything as soon as I got home, my bag was always packed and ready to go. I will always be a little scatter brained but I sure can pack a diaper bag.

What’s in your diaper bag?

Sunday Funday Giveaway: Boba Baby Carrier – BobaAIR

Sunday, July 22nd, 2012

I am so very excited for this week’s giveaway! It’s for a BobaAIR which is the newest carrier released by Boba Babby Carriers. What makes this new carrier so unique? It weighs less than ONE pound; it weighs .7lbs to be exact…making it the lightest soft structured carrier on the market. But don’t be fooled by the weight thinking they skimped on the design, comfort, or quality of the BobaAIR. The BobaAIR is just as awesome as the other Boba carriers just serves a slighlty different function. The BobaAIR is meant for easy packing and travel. It’s compact and lightweight design make it perfect to tuck into your diaper bag and pull out as needed. I find this feature particulary beneficial for the current babywearing stage I am in with my toddler. He prefers to walk and assert his independence when possible, but at times still needs/wants to be helpd by mama…especially when he is tired. The BobaAIR can be used with children from 15 to 45lbs in a front or back carry. There is a hood to use when baby is sleeping or to protect from weather elements (rain or sun!). When not in use you just tuck it right into its very own attached pocket. Made of 100% nylon the BobaAIR is easy to wipe clean. Can you tell how much I love this new product! And I am so stoked to make it this week’s giveaway! Enter below for your chance to win.

*Winner will be announced on Sunday, July 29. Winner will be notified via email and need to respond with shipping address within 48hours to claim their prize. Good luck everyone! :)

Product Review: Planet Wise Reuseable Snack Bags

Friday, April 13th, 2012

Lately we have been spending a lot of time at the park and zoo, just soaking up the gorgeous weather! As you know outings with kids are far more successful if you pack several snack options for them. For environmental (and economical) reasons I don’t like to use disposable plastic baggies to pack snacks. Instead I mostly use re-usable plastic containers, however they are big, bulky, and heavy. They take up a lot of room in the diaper bag and are overall cumbersome to deal with. I don’t know about you, but no matter how hard I try to stay organized with my plastic containers and lids, I always spend way more time than I care to digging around to find the right sized lid. I decided because packing snacks for outings is pretty much a daily occurrence in my life, it was time to invest in some better options.

And what perfect timing because right now in honor of Earth Day, Planet Wise Reusable Snack Bags are 25% off! They offer three awesome options for packing food: Reusable Snack Bags, Window Bags, and Sandwich Bags. The bags are made in the USA out of FDA food safe material that is PVC, BPA, phthalate, latex and lead free. They are carefully designed to prevent leaks and seal in freshness with a hook and loop closure. You can easily wipe them out with a wet washcloth or simply throw them in the washing machine.

I decided to order three of the reusable snack bags; one for each of my boys. As a side note, I love getting packages from Mom’s Milk Boutique in the mail! In case you didn’t know they use packaging that is re-usable and 100% biodegradable. To me the environmental friendly packaging is yet another added bonus when ordering from them! :)

The day our snack bags arrived in the mail, we were so excited we decided to test them out by going to the park. I now realize what a conservative order three bags was…I definitely love the bags and would enjoy having several more! First of all, as with all the Planet Wise products, the Snack Bags come in several adorable prints to choose from. Colorful prints are way more fun than clear plastic disposable bags. My kids are really excited about their colorful snack bags. Also the bags are super lightweight as opposed to the bulky plastic containers I was previously using. They are the perfect size and hold a generous amount of snacks for your little one. I always like how heavy duty the velcro is…no chance at all of it coming open on its own bouncing around in my bag. Additionally they are super duper easy to clean out.

If you are looking for some new, fresh ways to pack snacks for your outings, you’ll definitely want to check out the Planet Wise products while they are on sale. In addition to being environmentally-friendly, they will save you money by replacing use of disposable plastic baggies, aluminum foil, and plastic wrap. I am enjoying ours and looking forward to adding a few more to our collection!
