Thanks, this is great. We were lucky in that Gwen got most of the way on her own (granted it took until well after a year, but I was okay with that)... and I was able to get her the rest of the way by simply talking to her about it. "Milky is tired and needs to sleep at night, so we're going to have milky before bed, then you can have milky again in the morning when you come into the big bed with Mama and Daddy." It only took two or three nights (only a few minutes of tears on the first night) before she was happily saying, "Ni-ni Milky!!" at the end of the evening and sleeping straight until 5am, when she joins us in bed for the last two hours of sleep.

Here's my question. Gwen will be 2 in less then 2 weeks. We are still nursing twice a day during the week, three times on weekends. Its fine with me, but I do feel myself getting to the point of being ready to be done. She still loves her Milky. I'm going to give it a few more months to see if she shows signs of slowing, but I have a trip in October and would like to not have to take a pump with me. I would love any suggestions for doing this as gently as possible.

Oh no! That sounds awful! Pulling wet swim suits off little ones is sooo hard...it's like they are suctioned onto them. I can't imagine trying to do it with a poop! I agree 100% that velcro is a must have on a swim diaper!

We use cloth swim diapers, but not the same brands you have. I do like them however, they are the pull up type and have no way to take them off besides pulling them down. I have had my boys poop in them which has not leaked but when having to pull down a poopy diaper that is already wet from the pool is NOT fun. I definitely recommend getting something with velcro.
